Bacon Monkey Bread

Via: http://shegetsbaked.blogspot.com/2010/07/bacon-monkey-bread.html

Ingredients:
- 3 cans of biscuits
- 1 cup of white sugar
- 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
- 1 stick of butter or margarine
- 2 cups of brown sugar (packed)
- 8 strips of bacon (already cooked and diced)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F Grease one Bundt pan.
Mix white sugar and cinnamon in a plastic bag.
Cut biscuits into quarters.
Shake 6 to 8 biscuit pieces in the sugar cinnamon mix.
Arrange pieces in the bottom of the prepared pan.
Sprinkle bacon among the biscuit pieces as you go along.
Continue until all biscuits are coated and placed in pan.
In a small saucepan, melt the margarine with the brown sugar over medium heat. Boil for 1 minute. Pour over the biscuits.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 minutes. I overbaked mine a bit and the top got hard. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a plate. Do not cut! The bread just pulls apart.

I can’t begin to express to you the level of my disappointment when I looked at the ingredient list and did not see monkey anywhere in it. ;)

  2. Andrew says:

It’s really really hard to come by in the US… Had to substitute bacon, the only viable replacement.
