This morning we had a question from one of our readers (who strangely asked to remain anonymous) –

“Hey, great website. I’m looking for confirmation that a recipe for oatmeal mixed with crumbled bacon and scotch exists. You seem like a natural resource for this kind of stuff. Have you ever heard of such a wonderful breakfast, and do you have a recipe?”

Well, although we have extensive insider knowledge about the BaconScotch Industry, this is a new one to us! Our helpful reader pointed us to this NYT article Q&A With Sam Sifton. To find the reference to bacon+scotch+oatmeal, scroll to the very bottom of the article. We did some searching, but sadly the closest we could come to a recipe was this – Irish Oatmeal, Bacon and Cheddar Souffle. Just add a nice glass of Scotch and you have a classy version of what Mr. Sifton was describing.
