Cheese & Bacon Scone Pizza

Ran¬†across¬†this one on Twitter. I’m not a huge fan of scones, however I’m sure it would add great texture to the pizza. Oh and did I mention it has bacon? ; )

* 250g plain flour
* 1 tsp salt
* 2 tsp baking powder
* 50g butter , chopped
* 2 eggs
* 3 tbsp milk


* 1 tbsp olive oil
* 1 green pepper , quartered, deseeded and thinly sliced
* 4 rashers streaky bacon , chopped
* 5 spring onions , thinly sliced (the white and green parts)
* 2 tbsp tomato ketchup mixed with 2 tbsp tomato purée
* about 6-8 cherry tomatoes , halved
* 85g mature cheddar , grated

Since many of us still have holiday parties to attend, I thought it was only appropriate to post this little gem. Does it get any better? Bacon, peanut butter and chocolate. OMG.

2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup honey-roasted peanuts
8 thick bacon slices, cooked and divided $
1/3 cup creamy peanut butter $
Parchment paper
6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped

Bacon Pizza @ Granite City Brewery

Joined a couple of my co-workers out to happy hour at Granite City Brewery. During the 4-6pm happy hour, all¬†flat breads were¬†only $4 – so I ordered one of each. The Peppered Bacon and Tomato pizza really stood out (for obvious reasons). The ‘sweeter’ taste of the tomato and cheese, against the spicy bacon was unreal. ¬†I must also say that the bacon was cooked¬†perfectly¬†in little bit-sized bit. We ended up ordering another. This is a must try if you’re ever near Granite City Brewery.

With the green and red peppers – these Bacon Cheese Balls even look like they’re meant for the holidays. I can only imagine ¬†how these balls would melt in your mouth. Yummy Holiday Balls!

  • 8 oz package of cream cheese, room temperature
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, seeds removed, finely diced
  • 2 jalapeno peppers, seeds removed, finely diced
  • 8 pieces of your favorite bacon, cooked and crumbled (just 8?)
  • 3 tbsp fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup of red onion, minced
  • 1 tbsp worchestershire sauce
  • 1 cup of sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 lime, juiced
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
  • pinch of black pepper
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup of toasted walnuts, finely chopped
  • Pita chips
